The Answers You Need

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes inner peace. A Reiki treatment is administered by the practitioner facilitating the flow of life force energy, also known as prana, qi or ki.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "higher power" and Ki which is "life force energy". Reiki is essentially "spiritually guided life force energy." If one's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A TREATMENT?

There is a wide variety of responses you may have during a Reiki treatment. If you fall asleep, that is normal. It is also normal to see things, make involuntary movements or feel things such as heat, coldness or tingling. It is recommended to welcome and surrender to whatever may come up for you.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER A TREATMENT?

Each person is different. You could feel energized like a weight has been lifted. Or you could feel heavy, fatigued, and needing extra amounts of rest. It is always good to ground after a Reiki treatment by spending time in nature, journaling, meditating, moving your body or using breath work. And remember to drink lots of water! The healing effects of Reiki may take place for up to 21-days post-treatment.
